Prince Harry is set for a disappointing return to the UK this week with his estranged father, King Charles, unlikely to meet up with his youngest son, a royal insider claims.
The Duke of Sussex arrived back on home soil earlier today ahead of the WellChild Awards ceremony scheduled to take place in London on September 30.
Any suggestion of a reunion between the once tight-knit royals appears all but dashed.
“Unfortunately, it looks like Harry’s going to be disappointed once more,” royal editor of the Daily Mirror, Russell Myers, told Today.

“The King is not in town. He’s not going to be able to see his estranged son.”
Charles was spotted leaving his royal residence in Scotland on September 29 to attend his usual Sunday church service with wife, Queen Camilla.
As for whether Harry will see any of his family on the trip, Myers said it was unclear.
“Big questions are being asked all over the place. But I think for Harry, it’s maybe sort of very much a whistle stop tour back in the UK this time,” he said.
Harry, 40, has been a patron of the WellChild Awards for the past 16 years. He confirmed his attendance at this year’s event earlier this year.

“I am once again honoured to attend this year’s WellChild Awards celebrating the remarkable courage and achievements of children living with complex medical needs,” he said in a statement.
WellChild supports children living with serious illnesses or complex medical needs, and they honour those around them who go the extra mile to keep them healthy and happy.
The royal is expected to spend time with the winners and their families at the reception.
He will also present the ‘Award for Inspirational Child’ (age four to six) and give a speech.
Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, reportedly hasn’t joined Harry on his trip.
She is understood to be at the couple’s home in Montecito, in the United States, with their children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
Meghan’s absence has again sparked unfounded rumours the royal couple have split.
“I think Harry and Meghan have had a pretty rough time of it over the last few weeks and years, haven’t they?” Myers said in response to the speculation.
“But, you saw Harry in New York last week. He looked full of the joys of spring, and some people saying, perhaps unfairly, that this was because Meghan wasn’t by his side, but he did look like he’s got a bit of a spring in his step.
“So maybe he’s planning things, you know, maybe he’s got some interesting projects on the in the pipeline, which is what Meghan’s been promising us for so long.”
